YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani on February 24 appeared before the Maharashtra Cyber to record their statements in connection with the India's Got Latent caseroyal circle club, officials said.

PTI reported that Allahbadia and Chanchlani reached its headquarters at Mahape in Navi Mumbai in the afternoon in response to summons issued by Maharashtra Cyber Cell.

Both were grilled for five hours by the cyber cell authorities. Allahbadia who wore a black face mask to avoid media attention, was seen leaving the headquarters around 5 pm. He boarded a private cab and left, while Chanchlani departed an hour later in his car.

The Mumbai Police had summoned both influencers to join the probe after Allahbadia’s controversial remark—join parents in sex—on comedian Samay Raina's YouTube show triggered widespread outrage. The issue was also raised in Parliament, with MPs calling for stricter regulations on online content. Although Allahbadia issued an apology, the backlash continued to grow. Meanwhile, Samay Raina, who is currently abroad, announced on X that he had deleted all episodes of India’s Got Latent from his YouTube channel.

Supreme Court Interferes

The Supreme Court on February 21 sought response of Maharashtra and Assam governments on a plea of YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani seeking to quash or transfer to Mumbai an FIR registered in Guwahati in connection with a case of allegedly promoting obscenity in an online show.

A bench of Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh issued notice and tagged Chanchlani’s plea with influencer Ranveer Allahbadia’s pending petition.

At the outset,betso88 the bench told Chanchlani’s counsel that he was already granted bail in the matter. Counsel for Chanchlani admitted that he has got the relief but he was against lodging multiple of the FIR in connection with that one particular show.
